I'm an Icelandic photographer and filmmaker based in Thailand, specializing in a diverse range of genres including portrait, editorial, corporate, documentary, fine-art photography, and filmmaking.
My journey began in Reykjavik, Iceland, where I grew up as the youngest of three brothers. During my late teens, as I pondered my educational path, I found myself working at a psychiatric hospital while pursuing my studies. It was during this time that my love for photography took over.
In 2006, my wife Helga and I relocated to Denmark for further education. Our lives took an unexpected turn when we seized an opportunity to move to Beijing. After a transformative year in China, we returned to Denmark to resume our studies. However, the allure of adventure lingered, prompting us to seek ways to embark on another journey.
Upon completing my studies as a commercial photographer, we took a leap of faith and moved to Shanghai in early 2012. With no prior experience in the city and no established network, I started from scratch, laying the foundation for a successful freelance career. The challenges and rewards of building something from nothing, was life altring.
In 2013, another opportunity presented itself when my wife received a job offer in Hong Kong. Although I had grown fond of Shanghai, and was frankly not ready to move, we embraced the new chapter and ended up spending over a decade living and working in Hong Kong. In 2024, we have planted new roots in Phuket, Thailand, marking yet another chapter in our ongoing adventure of personal and professional growth.
The journey thus far has been an exhilarating rollercoaster of adventure, inspiration and learning, fueling both my personal and professional development.
